Still Life

For these still life works I practiced sketching proportion and explored how the relationship between light and shadow is depicted using shading and sketching techniques. The object on the right incorporated the use of negative space as the bottle I used was entirely black and would only reflect lighter colors. The flowers depicted on the left are from a vase in the courtyard of my high school where I've had many lunch conversations and sports practices, surrounded by beautiful plants and garden materials similar to ones I captured in my sketch. The image on the right is a water bottle I bought on a trip to Seattle with my friends and have used everyday since.
