Grateful Hands Sculpture

This project was inspired by my participation in a service organization run by a student association at my school called One Less Hungry. My job was to prepare and hand out lunch bags to the homeless of San Francisco. I was touched by how grateful each person was after my peers and I gave them food and I wanted to demonstrate that feeling in this piece. The message of the elements of this project is in its simplicity, the white plaster molds of my hands and a paper bag emphasized only by the lighting, similar to the way that people's faces would light up when they would receive the lunch bags. Additionally the basic layout of this project leaves a lot for interpretation and the story that each person wants to tell about it.
